AI assistant for accountants and bookkeepers

Last updated

Ordaily is your PA in WhatsApp, built with AI, for accountants and bookkeepers: it sorts client email, drafts the requests and replies you would otherwise type, keeps your deadline reminders and diary, and sends nothing until you say yes. A whole PA for about R1,000 a month, in WhatsApp. It isn’t an AI agent that acts for you: it gathers the admin, organises it and helps you deal with it, and you decide what goes out.

A year that runs on deadlines

Your calendar is set by SARS and by your clients’ year-ends: monthly payroll submissions, provisional tax, filing season, financial statements the bank is waiting for. Each deadline brings its own wave of email.

Clients send documents in pieces, ask what they owe, and forget the one statement you asked for. Every request for a missing document is another email to write, and in filing season they pile up between returns.

Ordaily turns those emails into voice notes you send between returns, and keeps your dates in front of you.

A morning with Ordaily

  1. 1
    A filing-season morning

The briefing lists three client meetings, an urgent email from a client who has received a letter from SARS, and your reminder that a provisional return is due on Friday.

  2. 2
    One voice note

You reply: “Ask Lerato to send her IRP5 and her medical aid tax certificate so I can finish her return.”

  3. 3
    A draft in your words

Ordaily writes the email in your style and puts it on a confirm card: to Lerato, the subject line and the full request.

  4. 4
    Done before your first meeting

You say yes and it goes from your own Gmail. If you spot a mistake, you have 30 seconds to undo.

Illustrative; not a real account.

What Ordaily does for accountants and bookkeepers

Client email in order

Your inbox sorted into urgent, priority and follow-up, so the SARS letter a client forwards is at the top, with a WhatsApp alert when an email is marked urgent.

Requests written for you

Ask for missing documents in a voice note; it writes the email in your voice and sends it on your yes.

Repeating deadline reminders

Monthly and yearly reminders for submissions and filing dates, plus to-do lists for the day, set by text or voice note.

Forward with attachments

Forward a client’s email and its attachments to a colleague by asking in WhatsApp, approved by you before it goes.

Client meetings booked

Book, move and cancel client meetings in Google Calendar, with invites and a Google Meet link, on your yes.

ClickUp and Slack, if your firm uses them

See your ClickUp tasks, add new ones and mark them done from WhatsApp, and catch up on Slack channels and direct messages.

A morning briefing

Meetings, the emails that need you, tasks and the deadlines you set, every morning as text, a voice note or a PDF.

Ask it the way you would ask a PA

You ask, it drafts, you say yes, it sends. Your own reminders and to-dos are set straight away.

  • “Email the Khumalos and ask for their February bank statements.”

It drafts the request in your style and sends it from your Gmail when you say yes.

  • “Move my 3pm with the Vermeulen trust to Thursday.”

The meeting moves in Google Calendar and the trustees get the new invite after your yes.

  • “Remind me to file the client’s return on Friday.”

Set straight away, with no confirm card, because it is only for you.

What Ordaily doesn’t do

  • It doesn’t connect to accounting or practice software today. Xero or QuickBooks is coming soon on Premium.
  • It doesn’t log in to SARS eFiling, prepare returns or calculate tax.
  • It doesn’t do bookkeeping, reconciliations or payroll.
  • It doesn’t keep a list of which client documents are outstanding, and it doesn’t write to clients on its own: each request is one you ask for and approve.
  • It doesn’t read documents clients send as photos or PDFs yet; reading photos and PDFs is coming soon.
  • It doesn’t answer phone calls from clients.

What it costs

A whole PA for about R1,000 a month, in WhatsApp. Ordaily costs about R1,000 a month: Standard is R999 a month in early access, locked for 12 months, then R1,500 a month, and you can cancel any time. By comparison, a human PA in South Africa costs about R15,000–R33,000 a month (sources below). The full comparison: PA or AI assistant? The real cost in South Africa.

Questions

Which accounting software does Ordaily connect to?
None today. Xero or QuickBooks is coming soon on Premium. Ordaily works from your Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack and ClickUp.
Can it prepare returns or do the bookkeeping?
No. Ordaily is your PA, not an accounting system: it handles the email, diary, reminders and to-dos around the work, and the work itself stays with you.
Can it remind me of monthly and yearly deadlines?
Yes. Set one-off or repeating reminders by text or voice note, for example every month for payroll submissions. They are set straight away and appear in your morning briefing.
Can it ask clients for missing documents?
Yes, when you ask it to. It drafts the email in your style and sends it when you say yes. It doesn’t keep a list of outstanding documents or write to clients on its own.
Is it useful for a bookkeeper working alone?
Yes, if your client work runs through Gmail and Google Calendar. It sorts the inbox, drafts replies, keeps your reminders and briefs you each morning in WhatsApp, for about R1,000 a month.

Spend filing season on returns, not on email
