Best AI assistants on WhatsApp (2026)
Last updated
By Josh Mac Donald, founder of Ordaily
It depends on the job: Meta AI is the general assistant built into WhatsApp, BotFast, SarahAI and Ordaily are personal admin assistants you message inside WhatsApp, Carly and Zapia work with WhatsApp from their own apps and email, and IndunAI answers your customers rather than you, so the right one is the one built for the job you need done. Below, the four kinds of WhatsApp assistant, each one in its own words, and who each one suits.
About this guide. Ordaily publishes this guide, and Ordaily is one of the assistants on it. Every other assistant is described from its own website, checked 19 October 2026, with the links under Sources, and the page says plainly where another assistant does something Ordaily does not.
How we chose these assistants
We grouped the assistants by the job they do, because the right one depends on it. We included the ones AI search tools name when asked for an AI assistant on WhatsApp that we could check on their own websites. We did not test them hands on. Every fact comes from the provider’s own pages, checked 19 October 2026; where a page says nothing about something, we write “not stated” rather than guess. We left out products we could not tie to one official website.

The general assistant built into WhatsApp
Meta AI
Meta AI is the assistant inside WhatsApp itself. You chat with it to ask questions, write and get everyday tasks done, with nothing to install. WhatsApp says its features may not reach every user, and its WhatsApp page does not describe reading your email or running your calendar.
Price: No price listed on its WhatsApp page.
Suits: quick answers and writing help in the app you already use.
Personal admin assistants you message in WhatsApp
BotFast
BotFast calls itself your AI assistant, in WhatsApp. You give your number, scan a QR code in WhatsApp’s Linked Devices and chat with it there. It drafts email, manages your calendar and reaches into many business tools, and it asks for a single tap before critical actions such as sending external emails, deleting records or scheduling meetings with new people.
Price: From US$9 a month (Starter) to US$99 a month (Business), with credits.
Suits: people who want one WhatsApp assistant across many business tools, priced in US dollars by credits.
SarahAI
SarahAI describes itself as an AI executive assistant for professionals and SMEs. You use it by WhatsApp message, voice note or its app to manage tasks, reminders, meetings and daily updates, and it says it confirms every action. Its user guidelines describe its email access as read only: it summarises and alerts rather than sending.
Price: US$9.99 a user a month on monthly billing.
Suits: professionals who want tasks, reminders and meeting updates over WhatsApp voice notes at a low US dollar price.
Personal assistants that work with WhatsApp from outside it
Carly
Carly is an AI personal assistant for email, calendar and workflows. You copy Carly into an email, or use its web app or Chrome extension. Its WhatsApp page says it is not a bot inside WhatsApp: you email or text Carly with a contact and a message, and she sends it from your WhatsApp Business account.
Price: Free; Personal US$35 a month; Organization US$35 a seat a month; Enterprise custom.
Suits: people who live in their email and want an assistant they can copy into a thread.
Zapia
Zapia is a personal AI assistant for daily life and work. It lives in its own app and on the web, on iPhone and Android or by signing in with Google, and it connects WhatsApp, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Outlook and Slack. Its free plan lets you connect your apps, hand off work every day and schedule up to 20 tasks.
Price: A free plan (up to 20 tasks) and paid plans; amounts not shown on its home page.
Suits: people who want one AI app for work and daily life, with a free plan to start.
An assistant that answers your customers
IndunAI
IndunAI is a South African AI receptionist. It replies to your customers on WhatsApp day and night in English, Afrikaans, isiZulu or isiXhosa, books them into your calendar and sends the right person to the job. It does a different job from a personal assistant: it works for your customers, not for you.
Price: From R1,450 a month plus R2,500 setup, in rand.
Suits: service businesses that miss customer messages while they work.
Where Ordaily fits
Ordaily
Ordaily is an AI PA (personal assistant) in WhatsApp for business owners and solo professionals. It handles your email, calendar and task admin, and sends nothing without your yes. It sorts your Gmail and alerts you to urgent email, drafts replies in your style, books, moves and cancels meetings, keeps your reminders and to do lists, catches you up on Slack and ClickUp, and sends a morning briefing as text, a voice note or a PDF. It is built in Cape Town, hosted in Johannesburg and priced in rand.
Price: R999 a month for Standard (early access), billed monthly in rand.
Suits: business owners and solo professionals on Gmail and Google Calendar who want their own admin handled from WhatsApp, with nothing sent without their yes.
Where Ordaily is not the right fit
If your mail is on Outlook today, Carly and Zapia list Outlook now; on Ordaily, Outlook is coming soon. If you want an assistant to answer your customers, IndunAI is built for that and Ordaily is not. If you want the widest set of tools, BotFast and Carly connect to many more. Ordaily in WhatsApp groups is coming soon too.

Questions
- What is the best AI assistant on WhatsApp?
- It depends on the job: Meta AI is the general assistant built into WhatsApp, BotFast, SarahAI and Ordaily are personal admin assistants you message inside WhatsApp, Carly and Zapia work with WhatsApp from their own apps and email, and IndunAI answers your customers rather than you, so the right one is the one built for the job you need done.
- Is Meta AI the same as an AI personal assistant?
- Not quite. Meta AI is a general assistant built into WhatsApp for questions, writing and everyday tasks. Its WhatsApp page does not describe reading your email or running your calendar, which is what a personal admin assistant does.
- Which WhatsApp AI assistants ask before they send an email?
- Ordaily shows every email and invite on a confirm card and sends nothing until you say yes, with 30 seconds to undo. BotFast asks for a single tap on critical actions such as sending external emails, and SarahAI says it confirms every action. Carly and Zapia do not say on the pages we checked (19 October 2026).
- What is the difference between a WhatsApp assistant for me and one for my customers?
- A personal assistant works for you: it reads your email, runs your calendar and reminds you. A receptionist such as IndunAI works for your customers: it answers the people who message your business and books them in. Ordaily is the first kind.
- Which of these are priced in rand?
- Ordaily is R999 a month for Standard, billed monthly in rand, and IndunAI starts at R1,450 a month plus R2,500 setup. BotFast, SarahAI and Carly list prices in US dollars, Zapia’s home page shows a free plan and paid plans without amounts, and Meta AI lists no price.
- Which email and calendar does Ordaily work with?
- Gmail and Google Calendar, plus Slack, ClickUp and Fireflies. Outlook and Microsoft Calendar are coming soon.
