Ordaily vs ChatGPT

Last updated

By Josh Mac Donald, founder of Ordaily

Ordaily is an AI PA connected to your Gmail, Google Calendar and work tools that comes to you on WhatsApp each morning and sends only on your yes, for R999 a month in rand, while ChatGPT is OpenAI’s general AI assistant that you open and ask, and it does far more general work such as writing, research and images, with paid plans from R149 a month in South Africa. They are not really rivals: plenty of people use ChatGPT for thinking and writing and want a PA for the daily admin. The rows below show where the two overlap, mostly email and calendar, and where they part ways.

Questions

What is the difference between Ordaily and ChatGPT?
Ordaily is an AI PA connected to your Gmail, Google Calendar and work tools that comes to you on WhatsApp each morning and sends only on your yes, for R999 a month in rand, while ChatGPT is OpenAI’s general AI assistant that you open and ask, and it does far more general work such as writing, research and images, with paid plans from R149 a month in South Africa.
Is ChatGPT on WhatsApp in South Africa?
No. OpenAI says ChatGPT stopped working on WhatsApp after 15 January 2026 because of a WhatsApp policy change, and its release notes say it came back on 13 July 2026 in the European Economic Area only, based on the country code of your WhatsApp number. Ordaily lives in WhatsApp in South Africa today, by text or voice note.
Can ChatGPT read my Gmail and calendar too?
Yes. You can connect Gmail and Google Calendar to ChatGPT as apps, and on paid plans it can draft an email in a chat on the web that you choose to send. The difference is who starts: with ChatGPT you go and ask, while Ordaily checks your inbox for you, tells you on WhatsApp when something is urgent, and brings the rest to you in a morning briefing.
What can ChatGPT do that Ordaily cannot?
A great deal. ChatGPT is a general assistant: it writes, researches, analyses files and creates images on almost any subject. Ordaily is deliberately narrower, a PA for your work admin (email, calendar, reminders, to-dos, Slack and ClickUp), and it does not shop or fill in forms for you.
Can ChatGPT send me a morning summary like Ordaily does?
You can set one up: ChatGPT’s scheduled tasks run at a time you choose and notify you by push or email. Ordaily’s morning briefing is built in and arrives on WhatsApp at your time, as text, a voice note or a PDF, covering your calendar, invites, email, Slack, tasks and reminders, and anything it drafts waits for your yes.
